The Opposing Hypothesis
December 7, 2008 12:24 pm NewsBut wait. The opposing hypothesis, theory A, has the same cosmologic problem. If it is implausible that the universe suddenly springs into existence by accident, is it not equally implausible to believe that the creator of the universe, suddenly comes into existence by accident? I accept the argument that anything as large and complex as the universe appears more likely to have been designed by someone than to be an inexplicable accident. However, the question who created God is just as daunting as the question who created the universe. If it is implausible that the universe could come into existence out of nothingness is it not equally implausible that God could come into existence out of nothingness? Support political talk radio.
Therefore, we are led inexorably by this logic to the conclusion that nothing ought to exist. By all rights, there should be no universe and no God. And if you feel certain that there is a universe, well, that’s your problem. My reasoning leads irrefutably to the inescapable conclusion that the universe doesn’t exist. Your perception that it does exist is clearly delusional. So here we are, full circle by my reasoning, back to Theory D, the irrefutable conclusion that the universe doesn’t really exist.
