One of the greatest times I had as a college senior took place during our fraternity’s annual Star and Lamp banquet.

This is a true black-tie event for all the brothers as well as the ladies.

My senior year was marked with many ups and downs. My studies were going along very well and I was poised to graduate with honors.

But there was also the sadness of my roommate being commissioned before heading off to war.

This is why that night was so special. It was full of elegance (with many of the ladies wearing their Nicole Miller dresses), emotion, and celebration.

It was a night I’ll never forget.
