If you Want to Know How to Help an Alcoholic

So let’s say there is a struggling alcoholic in your life and you really want to see them change.  Is there any way to help motivate them to do it?

Yes and no.  You cannot directly affect another person and their sobriety, especially when it comes to that crucial moment of surrender.  They have to reach that point on their own and no amount of manipulation on your part can help them reach it sooner. 

If you want to know how to help an alcoholic then really what you need to do is to take a look at your own behavior and make sure that you are not enabling them in any way.
